The author provides much interesting information concerning the transmission of the Bible and the various manuscripts extant. At the turn of the 19th-century, a Mr. Uzielli converted to Christianity, "and became the founder of the family by that name, several members of whom have since become well-known financiers" (J. Picciotto, Sketches of Anglo-Jewish History, p. 296)
