Hebrew carte-de-visite of “Dr. Ya’akov Yisrael De Haan, Orekh Din [Attorney-at-law], Amsterdam, Holland.” Message handwritten in English to Nachum Sokolow on both sides the card: “Dear Mr Sokolow, I have given my card to...of the Daily Telegraph who should be very pleased to have a conversation with you or with Prof. Weizmann on Jewish questions. I think he might be able to do something.”

Dr. Jacob Israel De Haan (1881-1924) Dutch-Jewish poet, lawyer and journalist, left a mixed legacy of personal and public positions. His political activity moved from involvement with the mainstream Zionist organizations in Palestine to a complete reversal and identification with the opposing Chareidi community of the Old Yishuv. He was assassinated upon orders of the Haganah.
