PASSOVER IN THE LIBYAN DESERT This Passover Hagadah was produced for use by the Palestinian Jewish units attached to the British Royal Air Force and stationed in the Libyan Desert. The traditional Passover text is punctuated with reflections on the contemporary condition - the tragedy of the Nazi extermination of the Jews, and the hope of a brighter future in Eretz Israel. One reads with interest that the “Hebrew units participating in the defeat of the enemy in North Africa, have rebuilt here Jewish communities and schools, seeking to bring to this Jewry an awareness of Eretz Israel.” (p.4)
