First printed in Hamburg in 1765, this Vilna edition of Megaleh Sod bears the formal Haskamah [encomium] of R. Abraham Abele Posveller, Chief Justice of Vilna. The Author, Aaron Gumpertz (1723-69) was the scion of one of the wealthiest Jewish families in all Germany.
