A native of Spain, ibn Shuaib lived in Saragossa shortly before the expulsion in 1492 wheupon he moved to Salonica. The collected sermons here, reveal both an extensive rabbinic as well as broad general cultural knowledge. His work provides insights to the social structures prevelant in Spanish Jewish society.
