The present work is a philosophical commentary to the Book of Lamentations discussing the vanity of the world and the suffering of Man. The Author concludes that human suffering and the death of the Righteous, atone for, and heal the soul. Moses Albelda (1500-c.1583) was born either in Spain or Salonika. He acted as rabbi of Arta, Greece, and later in Valona, Albania. See EJ, Vol. II, col. 529
