Opening blank inscribed by Samuel Edwards (London, 3rd April 1790): “This Book Belonged to the Late, Learned Dr. Kennicott, and was interleaved and corrected by him...” The final page noted in pencil by Moses Gaster: “Finished collation of ...(?)... with my Ms. No. 800. 16th February, 1905. MG.” This Samaritan text was removed from Brian Walton’s London Polyglot. Kennicott (1718-83) spent much time in the study of Hebrew manuscript texts
