Rabbi David Oppenheimer (Oppenheim) was the Chief Rabbi of Prague and the author of Responsa Nish’al David. A bibliophile from youth, he utilized the fortune he inherited from his uncle, Samuel Oppenheim, Austrian Court Jew, to amass a truly monumental collection of Hebraica. Today, the library of Rabbi David Openheimer is housed in the Bodleian Library, Oxford, where it forms the substantial part of the Hebrew section. See EJ, Vol. XII, cols. 1419-1422
