Isaac Jessé of Monteux, a Jew of Mazan, recognizes that he owes two “emines” (unit of measurement) of wheat in exchange for the use of a certain vineyard. As he cannot fulfill his obligation, he cedes the vineyard to the widow of H. de Laplane. See Szajkowski, Franco-Judaica, No. 350, who notes a collection of printed documents, hundred years later than the manuscript above, including “Declaration de Moussé de Monteux, fils d’Issaac de la Ville de Carpentras,” legalized by the notary on 22nd February, 1663
