Royal Permit permitting Nathan Elias Dreifuss of Sierentz (Alsace) to marry in 1784. Louis XI’s Letters of Patent of July 10th 1784 contained 25 articles “aimed at reducing the numbers of Jews in Alsace in the name of justice and humanity” (JQR, Vol.44 (1954).
