The author was one of the most famous Italian Rabbis of his time (1579-1647). The Gidulei Terumah is a valuable commentary to Samuel Sardi’s Sepher Haterumah, the first Halachic work devoted solely to civil law. In the Binah Leitim, Sermon no. 26 for Passover was later censored in the 1799 Brünn edition of Binah Le’itim. See R. Margolioth, Aresheth Vol. I, p.422.
