Chagiz was renowned for his campaign opposing Jewish heresy, in particular against Shabathai Tzvi. Bringing David ibn Zimra’s Or Kadmon to press was Moses Chagiz’s first publishing venture. The reclamation of Zimra’s manuscript readily found financial backers and Chagiz took advantage of its first appearance in print and appended a short treatise of his own
