A hand constructed fringed banner with machine-stitched ribbon stripes, made to resemble a prayer shawl fragment, hangs from a wooden rod; it bears two Hebrew inscriptions above the stripes. W: 680mm. Worn.

The upper inscription, in blood red letters, reads: "If I forget the exile; " the lower inscription, which is also included in the Passover Haggadah, is a quotation from Ezikiel 16:6: "And when I passed by thee, and saw thee wallowing in they blood, I said unto thee: In they blood, live..." (Note the verse reference is incorrect.)
