Brother of Aaron Hart (Rabbi of the Great Synagogue of London), Moses Hart was known as the richest 18th- century Asxhkenazi Jew in England, he rebuilt the Asxhkenazi Synagogue (later known as the Great Synagogue of London) in 1722 at his own expense and continued to control it until his death
