The letter by the Va'ad Haleumi to Rabbi Sonnenfeld inquired about the relations between the Arabs and Jews who prayed at the Western Wall. Asked how conflicts were resolved and if violence ever ensued. They queried whether an Aron Hakodesh (Ark) was kept at the site and if Torah Scrolls were read from. They also inquired regarding the customs of a "mechitza" (separation) and use of lighted Menorah. Rabbi Sonnenfeld's responded that neither an Ark nor Torah Scrolls where brought to the Western Wall in the past, and he is not pleased with the present practice to do so. He is unable to supply any other circumstantial information
