Despite his Zionistic views, Zvi Perez Chajes (1876-1927), served as Chief Rabbi of Vienna for nine years. A charismatic orator, Mein Amt, his first address as Chief Rabbi immortalized in this micrography laid out his Zionist confession of faith and greatly impressed his audience. See EJ, V col. 325.
