An important and exceptionally rare Chassidic edition. The JNUL copy is lacking considerably See the discussion on the differences between this and other editions in Y. Mondshein’s Siphrei Ha’halachah shel Admor Hazaken, vol. II (1984) pp.55-64. Cited there is R. A.B Lavut, author of Sha’ar Hakolel. More than a century ago, in 1887 R. Lavut noted the great difficulty he encountered in attempting to locate this particular edition. The publisher, Israel Jaffe, was a close disciple of the Alter Rebbe See also S.B.
