A popular preacher and Chassidic exegete in Poland, R. Aryeh Leib may have been the first of the early Chassidim to accept the charismatic leadership of the Ba’al Shem Tov. The main theme of his sermons was moral exhortation for a simple, pious life. He disapproved of casuistic methods of learning and emphasized the primacy of prayer in the scale of religious values. His sermons and excegetical commentaries were collected and published post-humously by his followers. See Z. Rabinowicz, The Encyclopedia of Hasidism (1996) p.26
