An extremely rare manuscript of RaSH”I's commentary. Provenance: Sotheby Parke Bernet, A Further Thirty Three Highly Important Hebrew and Samaritan Manuscripts, from the Collection Formed by the Late David Solomon Sassoon, Zurich, 21st November, 1978, Lot 25. Apparently only one other form of this manuscript is recorded (Bodleian MS 420). The text not only contains significant variances from the standard published editions but also contains many significant additions that are often missing in the printed text. (See D. S. Sassoon, Ohel Dawid. Descriptive Catalogue of the Hebrew and Samaritan Manuscripts in the Sassoon Library (1932) vol. I pp.102-3.) The text and margins bear many interesting quotations, including one from Rabbeinu Chananel (p. 56) and a note in the name of Rabbeinu Shmuel Ha’Ttzarfati (p. 74) which according to Sassoon "the difficulties between the Maharsh”a and the Maharsh”al are settled" by this note
