Born to an old Philadelphia Quaker family, Cresson left his family to reside in Jerusalem seeking to find spiritual truth in Judaism. Thereafter, his wife and son commenced insanity proceedings against him. Thereafter, Cresson returned to Eretz Israel from the United States and lived the rest of his life in Jerusalem following the lifestyle of a Sephardi Jew. See EJ, V col.1087-8
