A detailed account of the social and economic history of this celebrated part of Jerusalem. Contains wills and death certificates of Jerusalem families resident in Yemin Moshe, also deeds, contracts, mortgages, construction documents. Included are copies of the original "Takanot" and estimators' reports dated 1887 and submitted to Rabbi Shmuel Salant for approval. Interestingly, Aschkenazi and Sephardi families were prohibited from selling homes to each other, and the neighborhood was divided accordingly. A draft to Rabbi Moshe Blau to change the names of various streets. Also various accounts, invoices and monies recorded for report to to Sir Moses Montefiore’s executors in London. With heartfelt letter to Chaim Moshe Shapiro, Minister of the Interior, to prevent the demolition of the neighborhood following the Six Day War
