The introduction relates the resulting stress from economic decline has caused many to fall ill and lack of medical care made matters worse. Therefore a medical co-operative (Chevra Bikur Cholim) is to be established to be funded by tithes from the town’s tradesmen. The importance of extending help and pledging contributions to the Society is delineated and signed by the "Maggid" of the community. Also included are "takanot" and rules regarding the membership and other forms of social taxation imposed on the community. A tabulation of contributions from celebrants of personal events: birth, marriage, etc. A striking historical and economic record regarding the institution of "Bikur Cholim" (aiding the ill) in a town where hospitals were non-existant
