The first response of a protracted halachic polemic between Zechariah Rosenfeld and Shalom Jaffe concerning the halachic validity of a Mikva constructed by in St. Louis. Jaffe went as far as enlisted the support of Samuel Salant of Jerusaslem in this polemic. The collection also contains a responsum permitting the construction of an Eruv in St. Louis utilizing telegraph poles, as well as responses to questions addressed from Leavenworth, Kansas (p.158), Kalamazoo, Michigan (p.140) and other American congregations.
