The English statement on the Transit Visa reads;”For the journey through Japan to Surinam, Curacao and other Netherlands colonies,” and stamped by the Consul of Japan in Kauna. The Shanghai immigration visa is signed by T. Elliot Weill, American Consul at Shanghai, China. This passport depicts the dramatic escape and rescue journey of one Mirrer Yeshiva student from Poland to Lithuania to Japan, to Shanghai and finally to San Francisco during the Holocaust years.
