Ben Gurion excuses himself for his late response but states this is due to the fact that originally he did not want to burden the recipient with the foreboding circumstances. However, as the situation developed into fact, although bitter, he will appraise him of the situation. Firstly, President Truman wrote to Prime Minister Atlee of Great Britain requesting the approval for 100,000 immigration permits. Prime Minister Atlee refused. Secondly, The government continues to enforce its restrictive "White Paper" policy. He also discusses the meetings of the Zionist Organization concerning political intrigues including the recommendation that Weizman should announce his resignation.
