Samuel Mohliver was an early member of the Chovevei Zion movement in Russia and founding father of Religious Zionism. The present work bears lengthy autograph marginal notes, where he notes the Editors’ errors concerning his oral remarks on the subject. This was the first comprehensive discussion of the Internatinal Date-Line in Halacha. For a later acrimonious polemic on this issue see, Ch. Zimmerman, Agan Ha’sahar (1958) and, M.M. Kasher, Kav Ha’taarich Hayisraeli (1974)
