Eulogy for Saul Loewnstamm (“The “Binyan Ariel, 1717-90). He was the elder brother of Tzvi Hirsch Berlin and uncle of Solomon Hirschel. R. Tzvi Hirsh outlived his brother by some ten years and it likely therefore that this volume was a part of his library. In addition to its geneologiacal significance, the work is rich in social history of the Amsterdam Community.
