This rare volume was published posthumously by the author’s widow who had settled in Bayonne. A Spanish Marrano, Gabbai Izidro (Ysidro) fled from the Inquisition to London where he returned to Jewish practice. He later served as Rabbi in Surinam and then Barbados, two of the oldest Jewish settlements in the Americas. See EJ, VII col. 233
