Soliciting membership for the purpose of forming The American Jewish Publication Society. “The want of books illustrative of our blessed religion has long since been severely felt both in England and America…It is the hope that our association may grow and labour successfully in the spread of the kingdom of our Heavenly Father…in this extensive country.” * WITH: B’nai B’rith Provisional Hospital Committee. Hospital for Israelites in Philadelphia. “Whereas within the last six months three Israelites of this city have died in Christian hospitals, without having enjoyed the privilege of hearing Shema Yisrael [Hebrew], the watchword of their faith…Resolved…immediate steps for the purpose of founding a Jewish hospital…” Text in English and German.
