Temple des Juifs - Juden Synagogue. A Three-dimensional view of the Synagogue. Consisting of six-parts of cut-out hand-colored engravings mounted in accordion fashion creating a perspective stage effect when opened. The sixth part (with the Ark of the Law with closed doors) is accompanied by a supplementary removable plate displaying the Ark open and the Torah Scrolls on view. 205x175 mm (depth 440 mm when opened)

A rare Jewish “peep-show” depicting Amsterdam’s resplendent Sephardic Synagogue (dedicated 1675) with the Congregation at prayer. An early diorama, produced right at the genesis of such a genre and probably created as a children’s play-thing
