Exceptionally rare Hagadah printed entirely in Spanish, for the use of Marranos following their return to the Jewish community. Livorno, (together with Amsterdam and Venice), was one of the primary European centers for the absorption of former Marranos. Indeed this was the very first publication printed in Livorno for those “New Jews” who had returned to the faith of their fathers. Unrecorded by both Yaari and the recent, far more comprehensive bibliography of Passover Hagadoth prepared by Isaac Yudlov. Similarly unknown to Kayserling in his definitive Biblioteca Española-Portugueza-Judaica (1890, reprinted 1971). Cecil Roth locates just one copy in the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, see Revue des Etudes Juives (1931) Notes sur les Marranes de Livourne, pp.1-27 (esp. p.19)
