The recipient was a leading agricultural educator for girls. The school in question was the Girl’s Agricultural School in Nahalal that Maisel-Shochat led for nearly 40 years. Ussishkin was in New York at the time, together with Albert Einstein, promoting the fund-raising efforts of Keren Hayesod, the financial arm of the World Zionist Organization.
