Elijah Mizrachi (c.1450-1526) was one of the most outstanding Rabbinic authorities of the Ottoman Empire. His responsa are of great historic interest, written amidst the turbulence of the Spanish Inquisition and concerning the Jewish exiles who arrived in Turkey. Only two copies are extant complete with ff.109-10, these pages were cancelled as they contain the author’s denial that his son converted to Islam
