An historical record written in 1940 to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the establishment of this famous Congregation. The Great Synagogue was totally destroyed by fire as the result of a German bombing attack on Central London, May 11th 1941. Due to war-time circumstances, the work was not published until 1950.
