Referenced in this early cryptic Kabbalistic text are various unknown works, some attributed to R. Shimshon himself, of which no trace has ever been found. Shimshon's mystical doctrine purported to reflect the Kabbalah of R. Yitzchak Luria but in fact combine several strands of the 16th-century Kabbalah with earlier mystical traditions.
