Neutral throughout the Second World War, Sweden became famous for its role in helping Jews escape the Holocaust. It took in over 90% of Denmark’s Jews and around half of Norway’s Jews, while Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg gave Swedish protection to thousands of Hungarian Jews. Intended at furthering awareness of Jewish plight in Europe, funds of the publication were directed to the working committee of Hjalp at Europas Judar (“Help Europe’s Jews.”). Notably, the work has a 13-page ‘Message from the Church’.
