The author, R. Abraham Cohen Yitzchaki (1789-1864) was a prominent Tunisian rabbi best known for his Mishmeroth HaKehunah, a commentary to nearly the entirety of Chazalic literature. The printer, R. Elijah Benamozegh (1823-1900) was a quintessentially Italian rabbi who fuzed his commitment to traditional Judaism with a humanist outlook. For more on the significance of Yitzchaki’s work printed at his press, see C. Boulouque, An Interior Occident and the Case for an Oriental Modernity: The Livornese Printing Press and the Mediterranean Publishing Networks of Elia Benamozegh, in: Jewish Social Studies 23:2 (2018) pp. 86-136.
