The ‘Eliezer Ben-Yehuda of Morocco’, Ya’akov Edre’i (d. 1951) was a Moroccan rabbi, paytan and communal leader. His Hebrew-language compositions brought about a revival of the language amidst Moroccan Jewry. In addition to essays and songs by Edre’i, the final section of the book contains French and English eulogies for the rabbi.
