A disciple of R. David Oppenheim of Prague, R. Mordechai Deutsch (1702-72) served in the Moravian and Bohemian rabbinate. In 1740 he moved to Hungary and served for over 30 years in the rabbinate of Hlohovec (today, Slovakia).
