Manuscript in Hebrew, written in an Italian hand with Nekudoth, on thicker paper. Title with decorative geometric elements. Blank leaves with numerous Italian inscriptions and signatures. Formerly in the collection of F.T. Dent, London. ff. 19. Worn from use, candle-wax - and other stains. Contemporary vellum, worn. 8vo.

Not commonly observed in contemporary times, this mystical prayer, recited each night after midnight, is an expression of mourning and lamentation over the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Deriving from Italy, this manuscript is a reflection of the hold that Kabbalah had in that country.
