The first of only three Hebrew books printed in this city situated along the west coast of Sweden. Following the Swedish Parliament bill in 1779 granting Jews the right to settle in Sweden, Göthenburg was one of just three locations (the others being Stockholm and Norrköping) where Jews were de facto granted residential rights.
