Habillo utilized much of the philosophy of the controversial Nechemiah Hayon, possibly unaware of his Sabbatean inclinations. At the conclusion of the book, as well as on p.219, the author apologizes for the usage of Hayon’s work, referring to places he cites him and exhorting the reader to ignore these passages. The work utilized by Habillo, “HaTzad HaTzvi” was an attack on R. Zevi Hirsch Ashkenazi, the Hakham Zevi, who had publicly exposed Hayon’s Sabbatianism.
