R. Yochanan Twersky was the son of Grand Rebbe R. Duvid Twersky of Rachmastrivka (1872-1950) and a scion of the Chernobyl Chasidic dynasty. After fleeing the Communists in 1926, he became one of the leading Admorim in Eretz Israel.
