A laughing Stalin rides a Star of David-emblazoned chariot pulled by bound Russians, beating them with the whip of the NKVD. The captives’ yoke reads ‘Workers of the world unite.’
The troika can refer to both a vehicle pulled by three horses, or the triumvirates that often sat atop the USSR’s highest level of governance.
