This guide to the structures that comprise the al-Haram al-Sharif, the Temple Mount, is of course written from a religious Moslem perspective. Nonetheless, it declares (p.2) that the site is where the Temple of Solomon stood and where David offered sacrifices to God (Samuel II, 24:25). Hence the Supreme Muslim Council (headed by Haj Amin al-Husseini) here officially records the historic Jewish connection to the Temple Mount.
