Flemish Christian Hebraist Johannes Drusius (or Van den Driessche, 1550-1616), was professor of Oriental languages at the University of Franeker. The follow collection of aphorisms from the Mishnaic sage Avoth R. Nathan, the Greek poet Aristeas and others, is organized into three sections along with their Biblical, Hagiographic and other literary sources.
