Bezalel Lapin was one of the leaders of the Yishuv. His father Fischel was a contractor for the Grodno Railway. Bezalel initiated coach service between Jerusalem and Jaffa in place of mules. He founded a construction firm that built various quarters in Jerusalem and was active in the building of the Bikur Cholim hospital. The work contains letters from R. Israel Salanter and other prominent Rabbis to the Lapin family.
