HEBREW-DIAL MANTELPIECE CLOCK
Neo-classical style mantle clock of microarchitectural structure.

c. 1930

Façade displays a pointed arch, Corinthian columns, and stylobate-inspired stepped, rectangular base. The clock’s face is ornately adorned with a Bezalel-like backdrop of the Old City of Jerusalem. The clock’s dial numbers are rendered in elegant hand-painted Hebrew letters. Gilt Jewish star encircled in protruding wooden circle at the center of the pediment. Sides are embellished with carved crests displaying lions and vegetal motifs. Verso contains grilles with partial view of the clock mechanism within. H: 10.6 inches (27 cm) x W: 14.2 (36 cm) x D: 6.10 inches (15.5 cm) Currently inoperative.
