A Nazi propaganda poster blaming the Jews for starting the war. The poster was designed by Hans Schweitzer (1901-80), a friend of Joseph Goebbels, who was Reich Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Schweitzer was appointed to the Ministry of Propaganda as Representative for Artistic Design in 1935. In this position, he was responsible for creating propaganda and national insignia. He was later member of the commission that decided how best to utilize works of art stolen from Nazi victims.
