The highly respected scholar and revered sage R. Pinchas Horowitz (1730-1805), known as the Ba'al Hafla'ah, was famously the Rabbi of Frankfurt from 1771 until his death. He was the brother of R. Shmelke of Nikolsburg (with whom he wrote Shevet Achim) and a contemporary of the great R. Nathan Adler.
